General Description:
Adjunct Instructor, Paramedic is a position that is contracted on a per semester basis whose duties and responsibilities are established in accordance with Chapter 64J of the Florida Administrative Code and the Board of Trustees policies. This position is responsible for teaching various coursework in the EMS program, specifically the Paramedic courses. This position reports to the Director, Emergency Medical Services. The program reports to the Dean of Nursing, Arts, Sciences, and Hospitality.Essential Job Duties:
Plans, organizes and instructors assigned courses to promote student success.
Responsible for evaluating student learning and objective achievement and providing feedback.
Selects appropriate materials and equipment for discipline or program use and ensures proper care and safety in their use.
Adheres to and enforces the administrative policies and procedures of the College.
Assists in implementing College policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with the College Mission Statement.
Maintains good relationships with community agencies and groups.
Maintains student records, as required by College and State regulations.
Complies with the Department of Transportation, Florida EMS Statutes and Department of Transportation National Standards.
Develops and revises course syllabi.
Works closely with agencies of Monroe County to better serve the needs of the EMS and Paramedic community.
Assists in all College recruitment & retention efforts as appropriate.
Additional duties as assigned.
