Job Title: Adjunct Instructor Pool - Graduate Counseling Program
Position Summary
----------------
Designs and delivers instruction in primarily graduate courses offered by the School of Health Professions. Programs include the Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, Masters of Arts in Licensed Professional Counseling, the Certified School Counselor, and the PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Adheres to the faculty handbook and faculty guide.
- Meets classes for the required time and days in accordance with policies established for class schedule.
- Submits contracts, book requests, syllabi, grades, evaluations, and other required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
- Remains knowledgeable of current research activities in respective discipline by reading journal articles, attending conferences, and maintaining relationships with other fellow researchers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean or Department Chair.
Education

Certifications and/or Licenses
-----------------------------
- PhD or PhD-C in a field of Counseling that is related to the graduate course assigned. For example, a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy for a MFT course.
- Must be licensed as a LPC, LMFT, or Certified School Counselor in the State of Texas in relevance to the graduate course assigned.
Experience
----------
Prior teaching experience at the college or university level preferred with evidence of teaching excellence.
Ability to work effectively with other University personnel.
Ability to comply with rules, standards, regulations, and laws related to student records.
Ability to adhere to University and departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to use discretion in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

### LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general counseling periodicals, professional journals, and/or governmental regulations.
### MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate figures & amounts such as percentages.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic statistics.
### REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
### CONFIDENTIALITY
- Ability to keep confidential any client history or file that may be disclosed in practicum class per student discussion.
### ETHICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of appropriate professional ethics code for the course taught, such as ACA, AAMFT, or ASCA.
### HYBRID TRAINING
- Must be open to receiving training from CETL, the University Center for online teaching, hybrid, and online courses for all courses taught in this manner.
