Position Overview

The Master of Social Work program at Regis College seeks adjunct instructors with primary responsibility to teach policy and research courses in the generalist level curriculum.

Essential Duties

  • Teach a generalist practice Social Welfare Policy course and/or Research I.
  • Communicate with MSW faculty as needed to support student learning. In the MSW program, students are prepared to become clinical social workers.

Other Responsibilities

  • Instructor will teach asynchronous course/s and must be available for offering 1-2 optional live class sessions during the 8-week term.
  • Provide office hours and excellent communication to online students;
  • Be available in the online classroom as needed for students (recommend checking-in the classroom four days per week);
  • Assign grades and provide relevant and substantive feedback in a timely manner through the Moodle classroom;
  • Respond to student email inquiries within 24 hours weekdays, 48 hours weekends, utilizing the university email account;
  • Participate in regular remote meetings, trainings, and faculty development opportunities.
  • Meet periodically with program director

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a CSWE-accredited MSW degree
  • Interest in teaching social work macro and research courses
  • Minimum of two years post-MSW experience
  • LCSW or LICSW (clinical) licensure preferred
  • Experience in teaching online in post-secondary education settings
  • Demonstrated skill in online teaching
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite, LMS-Moodle, PackBack, and willingness to learn technology tools used to support student learning
  • Ability to uphold the university's mission, values, and commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Must work remotely and have reliable internet access;
  • Must schedule optional synchronous class meetings and other meetings on Eastern Time.
  • May spend extended periods at a computer and on zoom meetings.

Compensation: $4,607.61 (3 credit course)

  • Indoor facilities with three fitness rooms, a six-lane swimming pool, gymnasium, athletic training room, and team room.
  • Outdoor facilities with a turf field surface for field hockey, lacrosse, and soccer; an eight-lane track around the field; six tennis courts; and a softball diamond with a dirt infield and grass outfield.
