SummaryTeaches and supervises nursing students in the clinical, classroom or simulation lab settings and contributes to the professional development of nursing students. Supplements full-time faculty in the supervision of students and facilitation of the curriculum and course objectives. Job Duties

• Creates an environment in the classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical settings that facilitates student learning and achievement of desired knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
• Assists students to develop as nurses and integrate the values and behaviors expected of those who fulfill that role.
• Implements effective clinical and assessment evaluation strategies appropriate to the learning outcomes of the course.
• Applies clinical expertise in the health care environment.
• Operationalizes the curriculum in order to prepare graduates to function effectively in the health care environment.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication and collaborative inter-professional relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctorate PhD, EdD, or DNP
• 3 years teaching in a classroom or clinical setting and
• 5 years relevant and recent clinical experience in a particular nursing specialty
• Demonstrates integrity, stability, imagination, and discriminative judgment in instruction of nursing students.
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrates interest and respect for students.
• Demonstrates commitment to life-long learning.
• Demonstrates respect, collegiality, professionalism, and caring in relations with administration, staff, colleagues, and students.
• Knowledge of FERPA.
• RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications

• CNE- Certified Nurse Educator NLN - State of Pennsylvania within 2 Years

Physical DemandsLift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
