    Description

Iona University's New York-Presbyterian Iona School of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty in its COAMFTE-accredited MS in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program. We seek a clinician-scholar with strong grounding in COAMFTE standards, demonstrated excellence in graduate teaching, and a clear commitment to social justice, student mentorship, and self-of-the-therapist development.

This position emphasizes teaching core clinical courses, such as Psychopathology, Research Methods, and Advanced Theories in MFT. The successful candidate will support students' clinical, professional, and personal development as therapists.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Teach graduate MFT courses using departmentally approved, competency-based syllabi, including required clinical, theory, and professional development courses.

    • Integrate self-of-the-therapist exploration into teaching and supervision, supporting students' awareness of identity, values, emotional processes, power, culture, and relational positioning in clinical work.

    • Utilize a range of teaching and supervision strategies, including live supervision, recorded session review, reflective practices, and instructional technologies including electronic health record (EHR) system learning management platforms.

    • Collaborate with MFT faculty to ensure coherence and consistency across shared courses.

    • Uphold professional and ethical standards in accordance with the AAMFT Code of Ethics.
