Salary: The incoming stipend for 3 credits in graduate programming is $5,321.73 - $6,141.27 depending on faculty rank.

Adjunct Position(s) in Master of Arts Counseling

General Statement of Duties:

The Psychology Department at Westfield State University invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach courses in the Master of Arts in Counseling Program, with course instruction starting September 2026. Candidates who are qualified to teach one or more of the following are encouraged to apply:

  • Adult Psychopathology
  • Substance Misuse Assessment and Intervention
  • Ethics and Standards in the Mental Health Profession
  • Theories of Counseling
  • Counseling Basics with Supervision
  • Evidence-Based Therapies in Mental Health Counseling
  • Dynamics of Group Counseling
  • Counseling Diverse Populations
  • Counseling Challenged and At-Risk Youth
  • Principles and Practices of Psychological Testing

Requirements:

Required qualifications include:

  • At minimum, a Master's Degree in Counseling or related field
  • Ability to teach one or more of the courses listed in the job responsibilities.
  • Teaching evening courses in-person

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • License-eligible in Massachusetts
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level
