Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience as a welding instructor and/or experience as an employed welder.
- Demonstrates mastery of subject areas, commitment to improving instruction, and professional growth.
- Commitment to keep current with workplace innovations that enhance personal productivity.
- Meets all mandated health requirements.
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules and corporation policies.
- Respects and observes the right of confidentiality.
- Supports corporation decisions and direction relative to matters of policy and administrative directives.
Essential Functions:
- Teach welding courses, ensuring instruction aligns with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Establish and maintain relationships with business and industry to ensure job training goals, objectives, and curriculum are aligned with current standards and practices.
- Assist in the placement of students in welding-related internships or WBL experiences.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on welding technology and implement instructional innovations.
- Plan and coordinate hands-on activities, ensuring students receive practical experience in welding.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in safe working condition.
- Encourage student participation in related extracurricular activities, such as skills competitions.
- Initiates purchase requisitions for supplies, materials, and equipment following district procurement policies and procedures
- Maintains a clean and orderly classroom and lab area; ensures that waste and byproducts are disposed according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards and procedures.
