Responsibilities*
Assistant Chair for Faculty & Staff Development,
Administrative Support (20% effort)
Academic HR/Faculty Affairs Responsibilities (45% effort)
Under guidance of the Path Academic HR Manager, and senior members of the team, will assist with the onboarding of annual incoming rotation of Clinical Instructors
Under guidance of the Path Academic HR Manager, and senior members of the team, will assist with the off-boarding of current year Clinical Instructors (those not staying with advanced faculty appointments)
Under guidance of the Path Academic HR Team, coordinate the onboarding activities of all new incoming faculty hires, including but not limited to:
Facilitate/create the new faculty member?s department onboarding/first-day Itinerary
Securing System access, including soft signatures
Procurement of lab jackets, onboarding materials
Facilitate access to Paging System
Coordinating professional photos
Enrollment in OFA Med School Orientation/Kick Start program
Under the guidance of the Path Academic HR Team, coordinate the off-boarding activities for faculty at time of termination by initiating the appropriate Faculty off-boarding Notification Form and following the Academic HR Team?s formal Faculty Off-boarding Checklist
Facilitate reimbursement of Faculty moving/relocation expenses through SSC
Facilitate annual Faculty effort reporting follow-up as needed
Facilitate process for supporting Faculty sponsored Visiting Observers
Provide back-up coverage for Cornerstone inquiries, Re-appointments/Re-credentialing

Required Qualifications*
A high school diploma or equivalent
4+ years of experience in an administrative support capacity
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort with additional platforms such as Google Workspace, databases, and calendar management systems.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including the use of closed-loop communication to ensure accuracy and clarify.
Proven ability to produce high quality, error free correspondence and documentation
Exercises considerable discretion and independent judgment within scope of projects
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work with all levels of faculty and staff.
Must possess demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize, manage multiple assignments, and follow through on job responsibilities.
Demonstrates ability to collaborate with others in a team environment, display developing leadership through problem solving and the initiative to advance knowledge.
Team oriented individual.
Ability to exercise a high level of initiative, discretion and judgement regarding sensitive and confidential matters.
Demonstrated ability to act in a professional manner at all times

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
