Pay Range: $30 - $32/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:- Manage return-to-cash activities and determine check cashability with IRS/state agencies.
- Investigate tax overpayments, refund claims, tax notices, and agency inquiries.
- Generate and validate bi-weekly payroll/tax reports.
- Extract and analyze payroll data using SQL.
- Maintain advanced Google Sheets/Excel reports.
- Analyze tax operations and identify process improvements.
- Support employee payroll-tax questions.
- Automate manual processes using AI and scripting tools.
- Support M&A activities and record retention.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:- 3+ years of relevant Tax / Payroll Tax experience.
- Multistate Tax experience.
- Experience working in a large-scale payroll/tax system environment.
- Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local tax regulations.
- Experience with payroll tax processes and tax compliance.
- Ability to work with IRS and state taxing agencies.
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.
- SQL experience for extracting payroll/operational data.
- Experience with ADP, Workday, or PeopleSoft HCM.
- CPP or FPC certification.
- Experience with tax notices, overpayments, refund claims, and payroll adjustments.
- Experience using AI tools such as Gemini or Google Apps Script.
- M&A/account registration and record-retention experience.
