About the Agency

The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) is a state agency dedicated to helping Mississippians with disabilities live and work independently. MDRS serves through four major programs: Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind (VRB), Office of Special Disability Programs (OSDP), and Disability Determination Services (DDS). About the Position

The Admin Support Team Leader is responsible for providing high-level administrative support to the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) Director, ensuring the smooth operation of the office. This position also includes first-level supervisory responsibilities, overseeing administrative support staff and ensuring the efficient execution of daily operations within the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. The Admin Support Team Leader plays a key role in coordinating administrative processes, assisting with policy implementation, managing office communications, and supporting the Director with scheduling, reporting, and special projects. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential matters professionally. - Key Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: • Serve as the primary administrative support to the Vocational Rehabilitation Director, managing schedules, correspondence, and documentation. • Prepare reports, presentations, and other official documents for internal and external use. • Assist in coordinating and organizing meetings, including agenda preparation, minutes, and follow-ups. • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. • Act as a liaison between the OVR Director and internal/external stakeholders. • Oversee and coordinate the work of administrative support staff within the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. • Plan, assign, and review work to ensure efficiency and compliance with agency policies. • Conduct performance assessments and provide coaching for continuous improvement. • Ensure administrative tasks and office operations align with agency policies and procedures. • Assist with workflow management and process improvements within the OVR Office. • Maintain office records, databases, and filing systems to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Support budget tracking and purchasing activities, including managing office supplies and expenditures. • Coordinate travel arrangements and expense reporting for the OVR Director and staff as needed. • Perform related duties as assigned. (This is a Non-State, Time-Limited (14) position).
