Eastern Metal Works is a well-established, highly accomplished company serving the General Contractors and Developers in Connecticut and the surrounding markets for over 40 years. EMW manages projects large and small with subcontract values up to and exceeding $5,000,000.
In recent years, EMW has gradually increased its staff as part of its strategic plan for growth. Continuing that plan, EMW is actively looking to add another experienced administrative assistant to our team. The ideal candidate would have 5 or more years of administrative experience.
Eastern Metal Works Inc., is seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide support in a busy construction and steel fabrication office. This position will handle a variety of administrative responsibilities and requires someone who can manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, stay organized, and consistently follow tasks through to completion.

Daily Responsibilities:
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files and records.
- Prepare, print, scan, copy, organize, and distribute documents.
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain company records and information.
- Maintain and update project, customer, vendor, and employee documentation.
- Maintain logs, spreadsheets, tracking sheets, and other administrative records.
- Assist with organizing, printing, updating, and distributing project drawings and documents.
- Review documents and information for accuracy and completeness.
- Follow up internally on missing or incomplete paperwork and documentation.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, spreadsheets, and other documents as requested.
Additional/General Responsibilities:
- Assist with scheduling meeting and attend meeting when required.
- Coordinate with office, shop, field, and management personnel to obtain necessary information and documentation.
- Keep assigned tasks organized and follow through to completion.
- Assist with special projects and other administrative duties as needed.
Position Requirements:
- Full-time, in-person position.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer and general office skills, including spreadsheets, email, electronic files, and data entry.
- Strong follow-up, problem-solving, and ability to learn new processes and systems.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
- Professional when working with management, employees, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous administrative or office experience preferred.
- Construction or related industry experience is a plus, but not required.
