Reports To: Chief of Federal Programs and Student Support, Director of K-12 Fine Arts

Monthly Salary: FLSA: Non-Exempt / Grade 63 - $3,243.17 - $4,378.33

The salary for this position is based upon the successful applicant's years of service in the NC State Retirement System in the same or similar position. Experience outside of this system is not recognized for pay purposes. For current Lincoln County School employees, this position will be paid according to the current Lincoln County Schools' pay scale.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and TB test before starting employment.
  • Supplemental coursework in business, computer skills and other related coursework is preferred.
  • Previous working knowledge within a local school system, to include terminology, acronyms, laws that affect students, and organizational structures, is highly desirable as well as knowledge of general business practices within the assigned area.
  • A minimum of two years previous related work experience and/or training is also required, with three to five years of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email, and data management software packages in a Microsoft Office & Google environment.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly within time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to deal proactively with work-related problems.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate performance conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.
  • Must possess organizational skills and be able to follow a systematic method of performing most functions.
  • Must demonstrate strong time-management skills and the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive materials and information.
  • Must listen well, get clarification, and respond positively to questions and directions.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Requires sitting for the majority of the day with limited standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work.
  • Must be able to perform very heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects
  • Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams.
  • Ability to use alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers.
  • Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.
  • Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

Duties

  • Composes and types correspondence, memos, instructional documents, meeting agendas and subsequent minutes.
  • Coordinates and organizes meetings which include the scheduling of rooms, making copies, preparing meeting packets and compiling information for directors and meeting participants.
  • Categorizes and maintains filing systems for retrieval and historical storage.
  • Prepares complex reports and summaries requiring specialized knowledge and strict confidentiality.
  • Conducts research, compiles data and prepares documents for consideration by supervisor and other executives.
  • Answers and screens telephone calls, arranges conference calls, takes and delivers messages.
  • Reads, analyzes and routes mail, including emails, faxes, and other documents.
  • Arranges and coordinates travel schedules and reservations.
  • Maintains budget and purchasing for multiple funding sources, including federal program budgets
  • Schedules workshops and sets up and dismantles workshop materials at the conclusion of workshops which may be on or off campus of the Central office.
  • Website/Google Site construction and maintenance
  • Ordering and checking in of instructional materials
  • Copying and distribution of instructional materials needed at different times of the calendar year
  • Manage budget spreadsheet and funding sources.
  • Provide support to the Director of Student Support Services, Mental Health Coordinator, MTSS Coordinator
  • Other duties as assigned.
