Environmental Review SpecialistRequired Education: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Biology, Forestry, Ecology, Plant Sciences, or a similar environmental disciplineRequired Experience: Ability to support environmental reviews, land use requests, watershed operations, and resource stewardship activities. Willingness to work in a training position with developmental assignments across a broad range of watershed operations team functions.Preferred Experience: Experience with environmental reviews. Experience with Section 26a permit applications and approvals. Experience with land use request processing and land use contract management. Experience supporting watershed-based strategies, water quality initiatives, shoreline management, resource management, or recreational projects. Experience collaborating with stakeholders, public agencies, watershed coalitions, or participating in public meetings.Job Overview: This position is focused on conducting environmental reviews for Section 26a permits on TVA reservoirs and assisting with land use contract management. It is a training position with developmental assignments designed to familiarize the incumbent with a broad range of watershed operations team functions. As experience increases, responsibilities will expand to include greater involvement in resource stewardship processes, watershed planning, water quality initiatives, shoreline management, and partnership development.Job Responsibilities:Assist with environmental reviews for Section 26a permit applications and land use applicationsAssist with land use requests and review and assist with processing applications for Section 26a approvals in accordance with established procedures and guidelinesAssist with management of land use contractsEvaluate shoreline management requests seeking alignment with watershed improvement and cultural protection goalsSupport implementation of shoreline improvement projects, resource management, and recreational projects as outlined in performance plansAssist in developing, reviewing, and updating long-range watershed-based strategies for protecting and improving the quality of water resourcesAssist in establishing partnerships with a diverse array of individuals, groups, and agencies to solve water quality and land use issuesAssist with public meetings and coalition buildingAssist in water quality improvement implementation initiatives and provide technical support to watershed coalitionsParticipate in developmental assignments to gain experience across watershed operations and resource stewardship functions, with increasing responsibility as experience grows**Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.****Please note that all Position start dates and duration are estimates and may be reduced or lengthened based upon a client's business needs and requirements.**
