Job Overview:

Farwell Area Schools is looking for an Administrative Assistant to the Board of Education and Superintendent that is professional and courteous, and able to work well with the Board of Education, Co-workers, Teachers, Staff and Students.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; College preferred
  • Administrative office experience, 1 - 3 years preferred
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe; Skyward experience preferred
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems

Responsibilities:

BOARD

  • Board Agendas, Recorder of Board Minutes, Board Resolutions, and Board Meeting notices and postings
  • Open Meetings Act (OMA) compliance
  • Board Packet/FEA Teacher Packet
  • Board Policy maintenance, meetings and website postings
  • Board Member information, terms, chrome books/passwords, and committees
  • Board Elections, Bond Elections, Millage Elections
  • Arrange workshops, conferences, and conventions for Board and Superintendent
  • Other duties as assigned by Board President

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Perform all administrative and confidential work assigned by Superintendent and Business Manager
  • Maintain Superintendent's daily calendar
  • Receive and route incoming phone calls in a courteous manner
  • Greet visitors in a courteous manner
  • Sort mail, file, manage postage machine and file personnel files
  • Compose appropriate correspondence and prepare reports in a neat and accurate format
  • ICHAT form maintenance, spreadsheet, denial letters, storage, and disposal
  • CHRISS administration and compliance
  • Safe Schools annual set up and maintenance
  • Google Groups administration, social media maintenance, and staff lists/RAVE
  • EEM Administration
  • REP Submissions
  • Back to School event set up (United Way, Safe Schools, Paperwork, Black Folders)
  • Submission of FOIA requests, P-EBT, and SCECHS
  • Monitor principals and teacher certification status
  • District calendar
  • Job postings, New Hire employment paperwork, State of Michigan New Hire Reporting
  • School website maintenance, postings and meetings (Apptegy)
  • Skyward end of year roll-over and beginning of year maintenance
  • Other duties assigned by the Superintendent or Business Manager

PUPIL ACCOUNTING

  • TSDL, Fall General Collection, Spring Collection, End of Year Collection
  • Section 25e and SRM's
  • CRDC Reporting
  • Third Grade Retention and GAD
  • Request for UIC collection and maintenance

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • May require lifting, pushing, pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work environment requires sitting, standing, walking, bending.
