Administrative Assistant II

In this role, you'll provide high-level administrative and project support to department leadership, including Chairs, Chiefs, and Assistant Vice Presidents. You'll be a key partner in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly while helping coordinate important academic, research, and team-based initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to support meaningful work, stay organized, and bring structure to complex tasks. The starting annual salary for this position is $56,506 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.

What You'll Do

  • Provide administrative and operational support to department leaders and professional staff
  • Prepare and review detailed documents, including contracts and other formal materials
  • Create reports, presentations, and communications using Microsoft Office tools
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and special projects from planning through completion
  • Support fellowship program activities, including conference coordination and onboarding
  • Help manage schedules, communications, and departmental workflows
  • Maintain organized records and ensure information is accurate and up to date

What You'll Bring

  • Have experience preparing complex documents that require accuracy and attention to detail
  • Are confident using Microsoft Office tools in a professional setting
  • Can manage multiple priorities and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate clearly and work well with a range of stakeholders
  • Enjoy coordinating events or projects and bringing details together smoothly
  • Have experience supporting administrative work, ideally in a research or academic setting

Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred

Previous administrative experience required

Experience in a research environment is a plus

Required Education and Experience

  • 1. Associate's degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or
  • 2. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time secretarial or related experience.
  • NOTE: Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
