Administrative Assistant II
Job Location: Modesto, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $24-$24.50/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-4:30pm
Description of Position:
Do you have experience providing administrative support in a government environment? Our client is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to a department for a temporary assignment expected to last 3-4 months. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail oriented, and able to work effectively with staff and the public while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of office support and general clerical duties
- Prepare, process, proofread, and maintain correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents
- Enter, retrieve, and update data in computer systems and generate reports
- Process records such as timecards, purchase requisitions, service payments, refunds, and other department-related documents
- Assist with invoices, fund transfers, and routine financial transactions
- Maintain filing systems and compile information from records and reference sources
- Provide front desk support by greeting visitors, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and responding to inquires
- Distribute incoming mail, process outgoing mail, and order office supplies
- Deliver excellent customer service to staff, the public, and external partners

Experience Required:
- Previous administrative support experience, preferably within a government or public agency setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong grammar and proofreading abilities
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor
