Salary range exceeds hiring rate
This position provides administrative support to the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and other boards and committees staffed by the Office of Planning and Building. The role is responsible for coordinating application intake and processing through the Town’s electronic permitting system, including completeness review of submissions, management of digital case files, and tracking of materials to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements for notice, filing, and record keeping. The position supports the integrity and timely progression of public hearings and decision-making processes, serves as a primary public-facing contact for applicants and the public, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced regulatory environment. The position also provides customer service coverage, assists with electronic permitting, and performs all other related work as required.

High School diploma or vocational/technical training in secretarial science, office management or in a related field with one to three (1-3) years of progressively responsible secretarial and administrative support experience, plus experience working with computers; working with the public and responding to customer service requests or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. Experience supporting boards or committees subject to public meeting and hearing requirements, or working in a municipal or regulatory environment, is strongly preferred.
This is a Benefits Eligible position. This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement with the SEIU and qualifies for the Town’s comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental and life insurance, as well as paid vacation, sick, personal, and holiday leave and the Town’s pension system!
