Administrative Assistant Level II to the Elementary Principal

Great Start Readiness Program - Fountain Elementary

Position Contingent on Grant Funding.

Work Schedule: 10 ½ Month Based on school calendar.

8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.*

(Includes ½ hour unpaid lunch)

  • Hours may be flexed based on program needs

First week of July through third week of August

One day per week, as determined by the Administrative Assistant and Approved by Administration.

Salary: $17.06 - $20.50 in four steps

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and competence in the use of computers including word processing and database programs; willingness to upgrade skills as necessary.
  • Trained, or available and willing to be trained, in the Power School student records program.
  • Trained or available and willing to be trained in CPR/First Aid.
  • Ability to meet and deal effectively with staff, students, and community members.
  • Ability to make accurate computations.
  • Excellent record of attendance and punctuality.

Position Duties and Responsibilities (Example Only)

  • Provide clerical and scheduling assistance to GSRP staff as a priority.
  • Type correspondence, forms, letters, and reports as required.
  • Maintain files and records, including financial reports for GSRP programs.
  • Post information to files as necessary.
  • Place and receive telephone calls.
  • Handle routine matters in a prescribed fashion.
  • Order supplies when needed, process printing requests for GSRP programs.
  • Dispense medication as may be assigned.
    • Provide classroom support as needed to maintain supervision per state requirements.
  • Assist with students during drop-off and pick-up from program.
  • Maintain enrollment applications and approval records for GSRP programs.
  • Establish and maintain parent teacher visitations and home visit schedule with staff input for GSRP programs.
  • Provide building level support as practical.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
  • For example - If assistant or a noontime aide is unavailable, GSRP clerical will have to be present in the classroom to support the teacher.
