Job Goal
To assist the Principal in the leadership, management, and daily operation of the school while gaining practical experience in school administration. The Administrative Assistant supports instructional leadership, student services, school operations, and organizational effectiveness through progressively responsible administrative assignments under the direction of the Principal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal and Assistant Principals in the daily administration and operation of the school.
- Support the implementation of school improvement initiatives, district goals, and campus procedures.
- Participate in student discipline investigations, documentation, conferences, and follow-up as assigned.
- Assist with student supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch, assemblies, extracurricular activities, and other school events.
- Help coordinate standardized testing, graduation activities, registration, scheduling, and other campus-wide programs.
- Assist in monitoring student attendance, behavior, academic progress, and intervention efforts.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, counselors, parents, and district personnel to address student needs.
- Assist with faculty meetings, professional development, and school improvement planning.
- Prepare reports, presentations, correspondence, and other administrative documents.
- Participate as a member of the school's Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), assisting with data analysis, instructional planning, goal setting, progress monitoring, and implementation of school improvement initiatives.
- Support the Principal in maintaining compliance with district, state, and federal policies.
- Analyze school data and assist in preparing reports related to attendance, discipline, testing, and accountability.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, school safety procedures, and crisis response planning.
- Participate in leadership meetings and administrative decision-making as assigned.
- Represent the school professionally in meetings with parents, community members, and district personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, employees, and district operations.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Principal.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Louisiana teaching certificate.
- Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Current enrollment in an Educational Leadership program preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Educational Leadership certification or active pursuit of Educational Leadership (Level 1) certification.
- Experience serving as a department chair, instructional coach, mentor teacher, committee chair, or other campus leadership role.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
