Administrative Assistant, Full-Time (40 hours), 1st Shift, Sleep Disorder Center

Job Summary:
Performs and provides clerical and administrative support for the supervisor and the director of the Sleep Disorder Center. Provides support to the Sleep Center, EEG, EMG & physicians as needed. Plans, establishes and maintains office clerical procedures, record keeping, pre-cert patient insurances and filing systems as required. Performs and provides clerical support to Sleep staff.

Essential Responsibilities
Performs and provides clerical and administrative support for the supervisor and director of Sleep Disorder Center, as well as physicians as needed Establishes and maintains Sleep Disorder Center record keeping, filing systems and supplies. Types medical transcription for Sleep M.D. Manages communication flow of Sleep Disorder Center. Pre-certs insurance and schedules patients for Sleep Disorder testing Manages communication flow of the department Establishes and maintains record keeping, filing system and supplies. Fax and mail computer reports to physicians.
Qualifications: Education
High school graduate or equivalent required. Insurance pre-certification experience preferred. Medical terminology and transcription preferred. Word Processing experience, preferred.
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years experience preferred. Basic knowledge in mathematics required. Mainframe, personal computer, word processing, database competencies preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates excellent telephone techniques. Demonstrates ability to plan and organize flow of information into and out of department. Maintains a strict level of confidentiality in all matters. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively Demonstrates competency with computer systems - mainframe, personal computer, word processing, database. Performs other duties as assigned.
