Description

Minuteman High School is seeking an administrative assistant to the Assistant Principal. Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage morning attendance in Aspen for student absences, tardies, and dismissals.
  • Run the school's daily attendance report and email to school staff.
  • Send daily notifications home to parents based on students who are not accounted for.
  • Update attendance in Aspen throughout the day based upon late arrivals & dismissals.
  • Greet visitors at the main entrance and guide them to Security for official check in.
  • Assist the Director of Operations with keycard ID's and assist Security staff as needed.
  • Greet parents coming in to meet with Assistant Principal for student conferences.
  • Check in students sent, by teachers to the Assistant Principal''s office for disciplinary reasons.
  • Contact guidance counselors, nurses, and teachers with student issues when necessary.
  • Communicate with Assistant Principal daily on any ongoing safety or disciplinary issues.
  • Communicate with transportation providers on early dismissals or schedule changes.
  • Process student & staff IDs.
  • Process parking tags for staff/students throughout the school year.
  • Maintain office materials and order supplies through appropriate purchase orders.
  • Alert maintenance department of any deliveries to the main entrance.
  • Multitask in a fast-paced environment with issues as they occur at the main entrance.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three or more years of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in an educational or public sector setting.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft 365 (including Word, Excel, and Outlook); familiarity with district software platforms such as: Aspen preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior customer-service orientation.

Additional Requirements:

  • This position includes but is not limited to: walking around the school, observing students while they work in their program areas, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.

Terms of Employment:

  • Full-Time, 10-month position
  • Work year follows the District school calendar plus five (5) days before the start of the school year and five (5) days after the close of the school year.
  • Monday - Friday from 7:00AM - 3:00PM.

Effective Date of Employment:

  • Immediately.

Supervisor:

  • Assistant Principal.

Compensation:

  • Salary range $43,000 - $54,000 prorated to date of hire.
  • Eligible for health, dental, and retirement benefits.
