POSITION: Administrative Assistant to the Director of Student Services, Concord Public Schools and Concord Carlisle Regional School District

REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services, Concord Public Schools and Concord Carlisle Regional School District

Salary: Commensurate with experience Hours: 12- month position, 8:00am-4:00pm

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Articulates the vision and mission of the district and special education
  • Leads with integrity, courage, vision, hope, and compassion
  • Maintains respectful, honest, open, and effective communication with school staff, the district office, parents, and community members; apprises the director of student services of significant special education events occurring in the schools
  • Promotes respect for all school community members; accepts and respects individual and group differences about gender, language, race, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic background.
  • Fosters a special education climate that addresses the individual needs of students in a diverse society
  • Arrange all special education transportation services for CPS and CCRSD students both in and out of the district.
  • Manage and maintain data and IEP programming for all CPS and CCRSD special education students.
  • Arrange home/hospital tutoring services, contracts, and payment for services
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports as requested by the student services director
  • Keep confidentiality regarding all aspects of special education students, families, and staff
  • Support special education staff in procedures, communications, IEP, technical support, and training
  • Maintain the QGlobal / QInteractive database and ensure that all testing protocols are ordered and distributed throughout the school year.
  • Maintain monthly special education enrollments and other statistical reports as needed
  • Perform Circuit Breaker (CB) annually for out-of-district students and communicate information to the business office.
  • Support the ESY director to help organize the special education students who will attend and arrange all transportation services - both in the district and out of district
  • Provide clerical support by fielding phone calls, writing letters as requested by the director of student services,
  • Manage special education student files for CPS/CCRSD
  • Performs other responsibilities as outlined by both the director of student services and the superintendent of schools

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite, ASPEN, IV, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Docusign, and ZOOM
  • Understands federal, state, and municipal special education laws and regulations affecting public education, staff, and students, including laws on discipline, disability, civil rights and responsibilities, issues of liability, and due process rights.
  • Has a high competence in supporting special needs students and guiding staff who may have questions regarding the team process.
