Princeton Day School is seeking an Administrative Assistant to the Middle School- Leave Replacement. This position is a temporary, non-exempt position working from approximately mid December through the end of June. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work on multiple assignments with varying deadlines, the ability to communicate effectively, both in written and oral format, a good sense of humor, a willingness to learn and enjoy working on a team.For this position, the ideal candidate is expected to:Provide administrative support to teachers, students and the Middle School HeadBe a welcoming presence in the Middle School building during school hoursManage communication with families; act as liaison between family/students during school day; answer the phone in a professional and courteous mannerManage the calendar for Middle School Head, including scheduling appointments with parents, teachers and administratorsCompile and maintain class lists and locker assignments Manage and record attendance daily; record attendance during security drills or emergencies Maintain communication with the Athletics department and Health Office Reconcile credit card accounts for MS accounts. Track spending and budgets as neededCoordinate transportation and logistics for Mini Course Week Collaborate with Division Assistants on event planning needs for All-School Assemblies such as convocation, seasonal celebratory gatherings, and end of year assembliesSchedule and coordinate logistics for Middle School events including conferences, Back to School Night, student photos, faculty meetings, and other community eventsCoordinate with Middle School Grade Parents regarding meetings and family updatesAssist Middle School Head in creating a draft of weekly divisional newslettersManage candidate process for MS educator staffing – schedule appointments and create interview schedules for campus visitsAssist students with bus transportation; assign bus duties and lunch duties for teachersOrder and stock MS office supplies Resolve copier and laminating machine issues and make sure supplies are on handOther duties as assigned/neededRequired / Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in a Google Workspace toolsAbility to learn new school-based software systemsAbility to work on multiple assignments with varying deadlinesExperience in an office setting Compensation Range: $30.00-$35.00 per hour (this role is NOT eligible for benefits)At Princeton Day School, offering a comprehensive and competitive benefits package is one way we recognize our employee's contribution to the success of the school and our role in helping our employees and their families be healthy, feel secure and maintain work/life balance.
