South Shore Regional School District seeks a full time Administrative Assistant to support the Principal and Assistant Principals. Mission Statement The Administrative Assistant reports to and supports the Principal and Assistant Principal, working with the District's Administrative team to create and maintain effective and efficient operations in, by and between the Main Office, Guidance, Special Education, Business Office, faculty, staff, students, family members and the general public. The Administrative Assistant is highly proficient with current technology and possesses the skills required to thrive in a project-based, multi-tasking and often fast-paced environment. The ability to adapt to new technologies and software programs to support the overall effectiveness of the school district is essential. Qualifications Trained Administrative Assistant with a minimum of five (5) years of experience. Experience in a public sector setting and/or school setting is preferred. Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills. Ability to relate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators and the public. Proven track record of reliability, ability to prioritize, multi-task and work as an integral member of an administrative team. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality relating to students and staff. Experienced and proficient in the use of Google platform Experienced and proficient in student information systems (PowerSchool) data entry and report generating. High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred. Classification: Confidential Secretary School year plus 25 days; 5 days after the last day of school, 10 days before the start of the next school year, and 10 days in July to be approved by the principal. 40 hours, 7:00 - 3:30 or 6:30 - 3:00 Annual salary range: $53,000 - $63,000, negotiable within the stated range based on education and experience. Essential Functions Assist in front office each morning as needed, including but not limited to maintenance and daily distribution of substitute teacher folders. Assist with reception and incoming telephone coverage as needed. Secretarial/clerical support for the Principal and Assistant Principal, including telephone coverage, preparing correspondence, assisting with preparing presentation materials, opening/distributing daily mail, maintaining calendars of events and travel arrangements. Maintain faculty professional development files in Vector/TeachPoint Assist district administrators and faculty as needed with school events. Assist district administrators with new initiatives supporting all aspects of the school, including recruitment and alumni relations. Provide oversight and support in MCAS testing preparations, test administration and record keeping processes. Assist in and coordinate all aspects of graduation exercises. Maintain confidentiality of the District's Main Office safe. Cash Receipts (a)On a daily basis, receive/check/provide receipts for cash receipts from shop sales, fundraisers, field trips, etc. (b)Book and prepare deposit slips. Petty Cash: Maintain petty cash fund and Principal's fund. Coordinate mailings as required by the Principal. Parents' Association and School Council Support the Principal in planning and preparation for Parents' Association meetings and School Council meetings. Student Discipline Support the Main Office Administrative Assistant in the maintenance of student discipline record keeping and preparation of parent correspondence. *Serve as a witness to student discipline where necessary or required by law.
