The Watson College of Education offers high-quality undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs that prepare educators, administrators, and leaders to serve schools, colleges, universities, communities, and professional organizations. The College maintains strong partnerships with educational agencies, school districts, community colleges, universities, and community organizations to support teaching, learning, leadership, workforce development, and student success. The Betty Holden Stike Education Laboratory and WCE Curriculum Materials Center in the UNCW Watson College of Education Office of Partnerships & Engagement serve as key features of our partnership network. In addition to being a community hub and resource for professional learning for all Watson students, the spaces support pre-service teacher candidates who access and design instructional resources and practice the methods they are learning in their courses by teaching a child in a guided one-on-one setting. Future teachers are coached as they employ newly learned pedagogy in reading, writing and mathematics. This intensive approach to preparing future teachers results in educators who are attuned to their learners and are reflective in their practice. Location of Workplace Main UNCW Campus Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Administrative Associate for the Betty Holden Stike Education Laboratory and WCE Curriculum Materials Center is responsible for coordinating, managing, and completing processes and procedures related to the business operations of both offices. This individual will independently coordinate and direct office support activities and develop new administrative processes and procedures, as needed. This position is housed in the Education Laboratory and works in coordination with the Director and staff of the Education Laboratory and Curriculum Materials Center, as well as the Assistant Dean of Partnerships & Engagement.

• Facilitate and monitor budgets for the Education Laboratory, Curriculum Materials Center and Office of Partnerships & Engagement, and other operating and trust funds.
• Work with Banner and other university systems.
• Work independently in verifying, recording, compiling, analyzing and organizing specific data, documents, and various communications required for office operations and collaborations.
• Act as a facilities coordinator for the Education Lab and Curriculum Materials Center, including entering and monitoring maintenance work orders, surplus, and other requests.
• Coordinate the reception area of the Education Laboratory, including operations of the OneLan TV and communication with community partners.
• Manage department inventory including office supplies, surplus requests, provide cash receipts, and purchase materials and equipment.
• Process financial transactions, including tutoring payments, travel requests, reimbursements, FLAC and EPAF payments, and independent contractor paperwork.
• Coordinate Education Laboratory, Curriculum Materials Center, and Office of Partnerships & Engagement workshops and events including scheduling, arranging catering, set up/breakdown, logistical support, and communication.
• Communicate with faculty, staff, students, offices across campus, and community partners, including updates to websites and support of social media.
• Assist in the supervision of student workers and graduate assistants.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

• Strong technology knowledge with on-line and PC based software related to the functions above
• Excellent people skills and flexibility
• Prior experience in working with faculty in an educational setting
• Independence and efficiency in completing tasks
• Interest in office management related to organizational systems and record keeping
• High interest in developing technology-based processes to manage large work tasks
• Ability to multi-task and shift priorities frequently
