    Job Description

    The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative, project, and programmatic support under the direction of the Executive Director of ODEAP and Maryland's State as a Model Employer (SAME) Initiative. This position assists with implementing initiatives designed to improve employment outcomes for Marylanders with disabilities.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    Provide administrative support to the Executive Director to support the day-to-day operations of ODEAP, including document preparation, fiscal management, meeting coordination, progress tracking, and reporting

    Conduct outreach and engagement with State hiring managers, businesses, and other key stakeholders to identify hiring needs, facilitate access to qualified candidates, and provide training, technical assistance, and limited job coaching to support the SAME Initiative

    Engage with job seekers with disabilities, community partners, and service providers to share employment opportunities, pre-screen potential candidates, and assist with planning job fairs and other employment-related events

    Use data collection tools, including SurveyMonkey, to collect and analyze information and prepare reports for the Executive Director and research contractor

    Monitor employment initiatives and best practices in Maryland and other states and prepare written reports, presentations, and supporting materials that include ODEAP recommendations, research findings, and examples of successful employment models.

    Engage in job development and provide job coaching as part of a State pilot for part-time customized employment

    Create, update, and maintain accessible content for the ODEAP website and related resources, including information for job seekers, employers, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) resources, using plain language

    Conduct in person training as needed/required

    Some Statewide travel will be required

     Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.


    Requirements

    Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s):

    Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

    Experience providing administrative support to senior executive leadership

    Experience coordinating and supporting meetings and events that include large numbers of diverse participants and outside speakers

    Experience supporting individuals with disabilities including individuals with Neurodiversity in the workplace

    Experience providing job development, customized employment, and job coaching services
     
    Experience coordinating ADA accommodations for meetings or events and providing training on the Americans with Disabilities Act, particularly Titles I and II

    Experience with Google Workspace (including Google Meet), Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom

    Excellent research and writing skills 

    Benefits

    Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

    Leave may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
