Position Information

Administrative Coordinator - Extension Health Nutrition and Exercise Science

To provide secretarial assistance for up to four specialists in the Extension Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences department.

Work together with other units in the College of Health and Human Sciences to maintain functional and working conditions.

Administrative duties

  • Compose and edit routine correspondence
  • Make travel arrangements and reservations
  • Establish and maintain office records
  • Receive and distribute mail
  • Answer telephones, greet visitors, and provide information and directions
  • Place orders for copies, printing, and graphic/video services from Agriculture Communication
  • Coordinate HNES projects and educational programs
  • Record and track payments from Storefront for curriculum and events
  • Manage inventory for the unit
  • Attend staff, committee and training meetings
  • Supervise work study students
  • Provide office backup within unit/academic department
  • Order supplies for Extension HNES unit.

Project Management, Student Work Study and Inventory Management

  • Coordinate and track progress for all projects within the unit
  • Assist with management of publications and materials through Agriculture Communication
  • Distribute materials as requested by county staff and North Dakota consumers
  • Track inventory and take initiative to keep project supplies and materials current
  • Coordinate work assignments for work study students

Hiring Range: $40,000 - $50,000 + DOE

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED

2 years directly related experience in an administrative office; strong oral, written and interpersonal communication

skills; organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; ability to multi-task; ability to work independently and

with others; demonstrated high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

NDSU experience; experience coordinating projects; experience managing inventory.

Core Competencies:

Ability to run office equipment (copy machine, computer, scanner and printers; Microsoft Office software experience.
