    Bachelor's degree in related field. Four years relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in related field. Experience in Higher Ed is preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities would be considered.

    Nature & Purpose of Position

    Performs advanced and complex administrative duties to support the School of Agricultural Science particularly as it pertains to outreach and the duties associated with the Senior Project Director of the Byler Endowed Chair.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Performs administrative support duties for the School of Agricultural Sciences and assists the Senior Project Director for the Byler Endowed Chair. Handles purchasing, P-Card purchases, travel, coordinates School of Agricultural Sciences outreach events, and develops outreach and social media content. Assists Senior Project Director for the Byler Endowed Chair with organization, scheduling and technology needs. Assists the Senior Project Director for the Byler Endowed Chair with the recruitment, organization, and management of an Ag Industry Advisory Board. Has strong interpersonal skills to interact with alumni, industry representatives and current and potential donors. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Other Specifications

    Previous experience in sales, marketing, new business development, event planning and social media platforms is highly desirable. Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, and social media platforms. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and through e-mail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially excel). Ability to learn university specific systems (Banner, Cognos, Cayuse, BearKat Buy). Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities is required. May require periodic hours outside standard work day, some weekends and travel. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement.
