Job Description

Mitchell Hamline School of Law is seeking to hire an Administrative Coordinator for the Student Services department. This position will be a first point of contact for students, faculty and staff seeking assistance, and provide administrative support to the Student Services department. In collaboration with key constituencies, this position will be responsible for event planning and coordinating the logistics of student services as directed by the Dean of Students.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff seeking assistance from the Student Services department.Communicate policies and proceduresRespond to requests for informationManage Student Services inbox Provide service to department constituents, which may include directing constituents to other appropriate internal resources or referring them to other departmentsAssist with student communications DocketWebsiteStudent PortalCampus Connect announcementsEvent planning and executionAssist with logistics for key events, including, but not limited to: In-person Preparation and Capstone sessions, Week 1 (Formation Week), Commencement and related receptions, and Student Organization events.Support administration of exams including, but not limited to midterms, finals, and other assessments.Coordinate the administrative functions of the departmentSupport Program Coordinator with Student Bar Association and Student Organization administrative needsRecommend and document departmental proceduresProvide administrative support to the department and department staff, which may include maintaining department files, whether paper or electronic, providing word-processing support; Assist in the development and dissemination of various communications from the department to a variety of audiencesMaintain a clean and organized department ensuring that resources and materials are stocked and replenished as necessaryOrder office supplies as needed or as requested and coordinate purchase requests Provide word-processing and/or other electronic media support Schedule and maintain calendarsSchedule and pre-screen appointmentsMaintain files and recordsHandle routine and complex correspondenceProvide project assistance as requestedAttend school-wide staff meetingsServe on school-wide committees as appropriateOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong communication skills including oral, active listening, and writtenStrong organizational skills and ability to multi-taskAbility to exercise a moderate to high degree of independent judgmentStrong project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and within established time constraintsAbility to establish work prioritiesPersonal computer and software skills, including basic Windows, intermediate spreadsheet, intermediate word-processing, intermediate presentation, intermediate calendar systems, e-mail and internetStrong customer service skillsAbility to interact with a wide variety of individualsAbility to create a welcoming and belonging environment Close attention to detailMinimum Qualifications: Associate's degree and Minimum of three years' experience working in an Administrative support roleOr an equivalent combination of education and experiencePreferred Qualifications: Event and/or meeting planning experienceAssociate's degree in Business, Office Management or a related fieldAdditional years of relevant experience, higher education or similar preferredBachelor's degree obtained through a formal four-year programPay Range: The anticipated pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00 hourly, depending on qualifications and experience.BenefitsHealth insuranceDental insuranceLife/AD&D insurance (MHSL pays for)Optional Life InsuranceDisability Benefits (MHSL pays for)Generous Holidays and Winter Break403(b) Retirement plan (Generous MHSL match)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Competitive compensation packageTo apply, please submit resume.
