The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation is recruiting

for an Administrative Officer 1 located in Anchorage, Alaska!

What you will be doing:

This position is part of the Statewide Programs (SWP) administrative team and supports programs such as Hunter Education, Shooting Ranges, Lands & Refuges, Access and Defense, Waterfowl, Threatened, Endangered and Diversity Program (TED), Small Game, and Wildlife Habitat Enhancement and Spatial Analysis Program (WHESAP) which consists of about 60+ staff. This position supervises four administrative positions in Anchorage and Fairbanks. The Administrative Officer works independently, provides leadership and management support in the areas of budget development and management, accounting, procurement, contracts, personnel and payroll for SWP.

This position offers a flexible work schedule. No telework is available.

The working environment you can expect:

This position is located in the Anchorage ADF&G office. The daily work environment requires working at a desk, effective communication and leadership with SWP admin team and staff. Also, regular use of a computer while interacting with staff and team in person, over the phone, via email and Microsoft TEAMS. Travel may be required to attend training.

  • Travel in this position 1 - 2 times per year for training.
  • Trip length is typically 2-4 days per trip.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in

  • Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience providing administrative support to a business or organization, business administration, public administration, finance, banking, accounting, industrial relations, marketing, human resource management, logistics and supply chain management, or a similar business field.
