Job Summary
JM Test Systems is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Shipping and Equipment Operations Specialist to support the movement, tracking, and delivery of test equipment, electrical safety tools, PPE, and customer-owned items. In this role, you will help ensure accurate inventory control, timely shipments, and clear communication across customers and internal departments. You will also support receiving, data entry, and daily administrative tasks while providing backup assistance across operational areas. This position requires strict attention to safety protocols, including proper PPE use and compliance with electrical safety standards.
What You’ll Do:
Equipment Movement, Tracking, and Shipping:
- Coordinate movement of equipment across departments including Lab Technicians and Shipping/Receiving
- Prepare, pack, label, and ship equipment for domestic and international delivery
- Ensure compliance with hazardous materials regulations and shipping requirements
- Log incoming and outgoing equipment with accurate system documentation
- Verify returned equipment and update inventory records
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and resolve discrepancies
Customer Service and Communication:
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding equipment status, delays, rejections, and shipping issues
- Provide accurate updates on delivery timelines and payment status
- Prioritize and expedite rush orders and special requests
- Coordinate with AR, Lab, and Delivery teams to support urgent needs
Receiving Responsibilities:
- Perform daily incoming shipment inventory checks and sorting by priority
- Create work orders with accurate data entry and documentation
- Route equipment to appropriate departments for processing and testing
- Coordinate customer pick-ups, invoicing, and payment support
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols for equipment handling, lifting, and packaging
- Ensure compliance with hazardous material and international shipping regulations
- Confirm required certifications, licenses, and documentation accompany all shipments
Additional Responsibilities:
- Generate reports on equipment status, production counts, and shipping activity
- Support internal teams with administrative and operational tasks as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in administrative, customer service, warehouse, or shipping environments preferred
- Familiarity with shipping systems such as UPS or FedEx is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced operational environment
- Ability to follow safety procedures and compliance requirements
- Basic understanding of inventory tracking and data entry systems
