Administrative Patient Services Representative

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, where your role as an Administrative Patient Services Representative is vital to ensuring smooth patient flow and exceptional service. This full-time, day shift position offers the opportunity to engage warmly with patients, assist with their needs, and support clinical operations with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients with a friendly and respectful demeanor.
  • Assist patients by addressing their inquiries and guiding them through registration processes.
  • Accurately collect and enter demographic and insurance information into electronic systems.
  • Handle co-pay collections and manage telephone communications promptly, including triaging patient calls.
  • Coordinate patient care communications with clinics and manage incoming referrals by gathering necessary records and orders.
  • Scan and organize patient documents and appointments efficiently.
  • Track and obtain authorizations as required and collaborate with team members to complete work queues in EPIC.
  • Identify and correct errors to maintain data integrity.
Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Preference is given to candidates who have graduated from an accredited medical receptionist program or possess at least two years of experience in a healthcare setting.

Experience

Two years of medical clerical experience in an office environment is preferred, along with proficiency in word processing and personal computing. Experience with medical insurance processes is also advantageous.

Requirements

This role demands close mental and visual attention for extended periods and the ability to work under stressful conditions due to customer demands. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, sit, and carry or lift up to 10 pounds, as well as perform tasks involving turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping. The work environment may expose you to infectious diseases, odors, noise from equipment, and a high-traffic, compact workspace.
