Summary:

  • Schedule: Mon-Fri 0800-1700
  • Work Mode: Hybrid schedule-working 2 days per week onsite
  • Location: 490 Illinois Street, 4th Floor

Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical, financial, and training activities in support of contract and grant proposal development, grant-writing, funding, administration, and budget development.
  • Manage pre-award proposal initiatives, post-award fund management, and closeout activities for various sponsors.
  • Analyze research funding trends and sources, forecast, plan, and manage research portfolios.
  • Coordinate, identify, develop, and present proposals, contracts, and agreements.
  • Review proposals to ensure institutional compliance and program success.
  • Negotiate, administer, and monitor contract and grant awards, ensuring compliance with regulations, terms, and conditions.
  • Perform financial management and reporting, and manage sub award/subcontract issuance and administration.
  • Support RMS proposal and award teams under the supervision of a Team Manager.
  • Gather and follow-up on proposal and award materials with Principal Investigator (PI), project collaborators, and subcontractors.
  • Start application preparation and compile final documents for proposal submission and award completion.
  • Monitor award, report, and proposal milestones for RSCs, Specialists, and PIs.
  • Draft correspondence such as No Cost Extensions (NCEs) and carry-forward requests.
  • Develop preliminary budget information for proposals and manage electronic document management for the team.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS with a major in a related field and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Research Administration and proposal submission.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations for federal proposals.

Department Summary:

  • Research Management Services (RMS) is an advocate for all researchers at the company and provides comprehensive pre-award services.
  • The RMS operation consists of eleven shared service teams, including 115 Research Services Coordinators (RSC), Specialists, Associate RSCs, Award Associates, and Team Managers supporting 2000 faculty.
  • Responsible for all pre-award grant activity for the campus.
