Position serves as the initial point of contact for the clients seeking benefits and/or services. Duties understanding and explain basic benefit program information, making appropriate referrals, assisting clients with applications, and researching information needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires Associates degree in business related field and considerable experience (2+ years) in public administrative support, working with a diverse population. An acceptable combination of education and experience may be substituted for the education requirement. Requires ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel as well as other computer programs used to determine eligibility.
Additional Requirements
Must successfully complete Criminal Records background check and Child Protective Services Registry Check.
Possession of valid drivers license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia and acceptable driving record according to City criteria.
Must successfully complete IS100 and IS700 National Incident Management (NIMS) training within 90 days of employment. May also be required to complete higher levels of NIMS training as determined appropriate for the position.
