The Administrative Services Manager provides high level support to the Department Chair as well as manage the operation of the administrative assistant services within the department.
Responsibilities
Perform responsible administrative staff functions for the Department Chair, frequently of a confidential nature, concerning administrative activities of substantial complexity.
Supervise activities and responsibilities of employees, including:
Interviewing prospective employees.
Ensuring compliance with training and safety standards.
Scheduling and assigning work.
Establishing performance measures, goals, objectives and priorities.
Evaluating work performance, including providing feedback, direction and guidance.
Keeping personnel informed of new or revised information.
Preparing, reviewing and/or proofreading documents to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance.
Recommending the development of operating policies and procedures.
Identifying and reviewing problem areas such as staffing levels, operating procedures, etc.
Maintaining liaison with designated unit directors and administrators, as well as external offices and agencies to investigate and resolve problems.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum required: High School Diploma/GED| Bachelor's Degree preferred
