We are seeking a person who is highly organized, and has experience in Library and/or archives to help sort, organize, describe and pack materials to be sent to the vendor. As time allows, we also may tackle digitizing some of the smaller or fragile pieces ourselves.
Help prepare material and list for scanning
• Sort through film canisters to track against collections of digitized films. Identify unique titles that have not yet been converted.
• As staff member, join the fun, in researching each item from storage to identify NFPA products that we do not yet have in digital form.
• For discarded items, remove the record from the card catalog.
• Small or fragile items may be scanned in-house as time permits. Scan the items, process the PDFs, and track them in SharePoint.
If hired before the move, assist with:
• Package journal runs for sending out to scan
• Pack Sparky pieces
• Package art, artifacts, awards, gifts for storage
• Move boxes for staging before actual move
• Help prepare items for donations or gifts
