Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Chief of Staff and Deputy Director, this position provides information and assistance to individuals contacting the agency with questions regarding the Campaign Finance Act and the Rules of the State Ethics Commission. The incumbent responds to a diverse range of customers, including members of the public, candidates, elected officials, lobbyists, and non-candidate committees.

This position is responsible for resolving complex customer service inquiries and conducting research on applicable policies, procedures, laws, and regulations to provide accurate information and guidance. Core responsibilities include education, customer service, records management, and compliance support.

 

The incumbent responds to inquiries from both external and internal stakeholders regarding applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with established guidelines. Additionally, this position serves as a primary point of contact and resource for the registration and filing of Campaign Finance Disclosure Reports and Personal Financial Disclosure Reports.

 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist new filers with navigating the agency's electronic filing system.
  • Complete complex administrative support tasks and assignments for the agency.
  • Audit records, documents, or processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with agency guidelines and applicable laws.
  • Research and interpret governing policies, procedures, regulations, and statutes.
  • Interact with all levels of state and local government in a professional manner that promotes respect, cooperation, and excellent service.
  • Contribute to a high-performance work environment characterized by teamwork, professionalism, and positive collaboration.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of agency records and sensitive information.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of documents received and selected electronic records.
  • Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and other communication channels, providing accurate information and resolving issues.
  • Review website content for accuracy, completeness, and functionality.
  • Assist with training workshops, presentations, and educational outreach efforts.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource in assigned program areas.
  • Support cross-training initiatives and assist team members in achieving agency goals.
  • Maintain consistency in work processes and procedures within assigned areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
