We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic staff member to join our Operations and Organizational Development Division as an Administrative Specialist.

Administrative Specialists provide meaningful, fast-paced work that positively impacts the community and supports this mission. We are seeking motivated individuals passionate about helping community members by creating a comfortable, welcoming, and inclusive client experience as the first point of contact for our department. Administrative Specialists work with a team to greet walk-in customers, direct people, route paperwork appropriately, and help clients identify Human Services and community resources.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • This position is 100% in the office, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

What youll be doing:

  • Delivering high-quality, front-line customer service to the public within the Human Services Welcome Center, serving as the primary point of contact for visitors and inquiries.
  • Managing the intake and routing of documentation to designated program areas, performing quality checks to ensure submissions are complete and compliant.
  • Interpreting and applying County and Departmental policies, rules, and regulations to research and resolve public inquiries, ensuring accurate information and appropriate referrals.
  • Composing professional correspondence and factual responses regarding standard practices, ensuring all communications align with established organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining comprehensive activity and work logs to ensure accurate record-keeping, data integrity, and operational transparency.
  • Assisting with onboarding and training of new hires to ensure departmental consistency and performance standards.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

Depending on qualifications, this position could be hired as an Administrative Specialist I or II.

Administrative Specialist I: $23.5200/hr - $27.0829/hr

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One (1) year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.

Administrative Specialist II: $24.0788/hr - $28.8946/hr

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • One (1) year experience as an Administrative Specialist I or two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar office administrative duties and responsibilities required.

Supplemental Information

This posting will be used to fill current vacancies and create an eligibility list for future openings.

The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8-4:30 pm. This is not a remote or hybrid position. It is located 100% in the office and could be located at one of the following three locations or be asked to rotate to cover based on staffing needs: 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, CO; 2555 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins, CO; 200 Peridot Avenue, Loveland, CO.

All new employees and rehires will be required to submit fingerprints for a CBI criminal background check (c.r.s. 26-6-104).

All staff working in the Options for Long Term Care Unit, Adult Protection Unit, or Office on Aging will be required to submit information for a Colorado Adult Protective Services data system check (c.r.s. 26-3-1-111).

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of required pre-employment checks or testing.
