Alternate work schedule

Three (3) in office work days located at the Community Education Center plus one (1) alternative work day is offered. Office hours are Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm. Some evenings and weekend hours may be required.

Job Summary/Basic Function

The Administrative Specialist ensures smooth organizational operations and strengthens the Office of Community Development and OgdenCAN's visibility by supporting internal systems, operations, and outward-facing communications.

This position provides critical support to Weber State University's Office of Community Development and OgdenCAN by coordinating project & grant tracking, MOUs, board support, and budget monitoring. The coordinator also assists with the development and management communications including annual reports, presentations, social media posts, website updates, email blasts, partner engagement, and event flyers that showcases ongoing initiatives and the impact of OgdenCAN's programs and partnerships.

By combining reliable operational support with compelling public engagement, the Operations & Engagement Coordinator serves as a central connector across staff, partners, and the community. This role is essential in keeping initiatives on track, amplifying OCD and OgdenCAN's message, and strengthening relationships with the board, anchor institutions, OgdenCAN fellows, and the neighborhood.

Required Qualifications

Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Valid Utah driver's license
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google Workplace Suites, project management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organized, detail oriented, proactive, strong social skills and confidence in working with a variety of clients, which include students, staff, faculty, residents, community leaders and political leaders.
  • Experience with budgeting and purchasing
  • Experience with social media and design programs such as Adobe Express (similar to Canva)
  • Associate degree preferred.
