Position Summary

The Administrative Supervisor I provides leadership and oversight of daily administrative operations within the Cardiac Acute Care unit while ensuring a positive experience for patients, families, and staff. This role supervises a team of administrative employees, supports staff development and performance management, monitors registration and scheduling workflows, and identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction. The Supervisor serves as a key resource for department operations, staff training, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and support administrative staff, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development.
  • Oversee daily administrative operations, including registration, scheduling, processing activities, and workflow coordination.
  • Ensure staff are trained on hospital policies, procedures, systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor patient satisfaction and implement process improvements to enhance the patient and family experience.
  • Support payroll management, reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with budget monitoring, supply management, cost analysis, and identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure accurate patient registration and administrative processes to support timely billing and revenue cycle operations.
  • Analyze operational data, prepare reports, and support department projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership and other departments to identify system enhancements and improve workflows.
  • Serve as a department resource and point person when leadership is unavailable.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience required.
  • Prior experience supervising or leading administrative staff preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment with knowledge of hospital operations, registration, scheduling, or patient access preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and provide empathy in challenging situations.
  • Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and support process improvements.

Schedule:

  • Hybrid. WFH one day a week. Must be flexible to work on weekends occasionally

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
