Job Description Summary

Facility Operations and Maintenance:

  • Opening and Closing: Unlock and open the facility for business at the start of the day and handle closing duties.
  • Daily Upkeep: Ensure the facility is consistently tidy, clean, and fully operational for both internal and external customers.
  • Light Maintenance: Manage general upkeep tasks, such as watering plants and ensuring lobby
TVs are functioning.
  • Facility Management: Serve as primary point of contact for the cleaning and other facility vendors; Liaise with City landlord (Parking division of Public Works).
  • Inventory: Monitor office inventory and restock necessary supplies.


Front Desk Reception and Communications:
  • Guest Services: Provide consistent door coverage, warmly greet visitors, offer hospitality, and
validate parking.
  • Inquiries and Correspondence: Deliver high-quality customer service in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Phone and Inbox Management: Answer incoming phone calls, check and distribute voicemails, and monitor the REDI email inbox.
  • Mail: Receive, sort, and handle incoming mail.
Meeting and Event Logistics:
  • Meeting Support: Assist with scheduling, organizing, planning, attending, and documenting
various meetings and events.
  • Board Preparation: Handle logistics and prepare agendas specifically for Board Meetings.
  • Facility Usage: Manage internal room reservations and support Hub activities.


General Administrative and Department Support:
  • Staff Support: Provide varied, day-to-day administrative and office support for the Economic
Development Department (EDD) and its staff.
  • Tech and Web Duties: Make standard website updates, provide basic Audio/Visual (A/V) support for meetings, and liaise with IT/Tech Support when necessary.
  • Budget Assistance: Assist staff with minor tasks related to the EDD budget.
  • Flexibility: Perform other general administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 1 - 2 years of in-person or telephonic customer service experience.
  • Computer experience (can use email, digital calendars, Microsoft Office suite, web tools etc.)

Special Instructions to Applicants

A temporary employee position is one created and intended to exist for less than one thousand four hundred fifty (1,450) hours in any calendar year. Temporary employees have no seniority, grievance, or appeal privileges. Temporary employees shall have no benefits except as required by law.

Temporary/Seasonal employees do not qualify for sick, holiday, or vacation pay. Paychecks are issued bi-weekly.

Hours

Work from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, which includes a 1-hour lunch break. Employee will also receive breaks and additional flexibility is available upon supervisor approval
