Summary:
The Administrative Support Specialist FWS students will work with the Department Manager for the School of International Service’s Global Inquiry Department. The Administrative Specialist will assist with project-based organizational tasks: including, but not limited to data collection, maintaining inbox, front office coverage.
Essential Functions:
Assist with event logistics.
Maintain a registration list.
Create and run an event webpage, and/or run technology for virtual events.
Research and compile relevant professional development and employment opportunities for program students.
Assist with marketing campaigns and website maintenance.
Other duties as determined by the Department Manager.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
5 to 10 hours per week.
Remote work flexibility, based upon need.
May require occasional evening, in-person or virtual, event attendance.
Salary Range:
$18.40 - $19.50 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks.
Knowledge of Excel, Sharepoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.
This student must be dependable, organized, and skilled with the Microsoft Office suite.
The student must also be able to conduct paper filing tasks, not all responsibilities will be digital.
Preferred Education and Experience:
AU Graduate student preferred.
Prior administrative support experience is helpful.
Experience with data analysis.
Commitment to develop accessible materials for diverse student body.
Prior office experience is helpful.
