Administrative Technician | Longview, Marshall & Tyler

Job scope:

Performs clerical work requiring application of varied work methods and procedures in which complex written, verbal and computation skills are required. Provides clerical support and other services for all phases of program operations. Responsible for general secretarial and office management work. Provides other support in all areas of the Center as needed. Assisting as needed with the completion of all billing forms required by funding agencies. Preparing client flow summaries, measures reports and transmitting to licensing/funding agencies.

Education/licensure:

Courses in business practice preferred. High school graduate or equivalent. Current valid driver's license in state of residence.

Experience/Knowledge:

Working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, arithmetic and office practices and procedures. Skill in computer office equipment use. Ability to maintain clerical records and prepare reports, to make arithmetic computations, tabulations, to compose routine letters and memorandums without dictation, to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions, to make minor decisions in accordance with procedures and licensure standards and apply them to work problems, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to organize time and work so that assignments are completed promptly. Ability to articulate clearly, in both verbal and written modes, with staff and other agencies. Ability to accept and make constructive use of professional supervision. Ability to maintain professional boundaries with residents of the program. Understanding of the accountabilities and responsibilities in working in a correctional environment.

Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:

Mobility, ability and stamina to sit, bend and reach during an 8 hour shift. Able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs. Sensory acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records. Fine motor skills sufficient to legibly document and communicate.

Minimum Hourly Salary: $16.00
