Summary of Duties

Responsible for managing and directing the overall operation of Assisted Living Facility (ALF) and Specialty Care Assisted Living Facility (SCALF) in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility and as may be directed by the Executive Director to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Essential Job Functions

1.Manage and direct the overall operation of ALF and SCALF.
2.Supervise and develop staff by providing guidance concerning problem solving and professional development.
3.Adjust staffing levels up or down as appropriate on a shift by shift basis, based on resident census and acuity levels.
4.Assist in recruitment, selection, and placement of qualified personnel.  
5.Develop, implement, and maintain an effective orientation program to orient new employees to policies and procedures, and to his/her job position and duties.
6.Direct behaviors of staff by use of observation. Take immediate corrective action, to include counseling and/or appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
7.Evaluate staff performance and implement changes as necessary. Complete and/or ensure supervisory staff completes ninety (90) day and annual performance evaluations in a timely manner to include descriptive and/or objective performance information.
8.Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program, making recommendations to Quality Assurance Committee when appropriate.
9.Evaluate residents to determine appropriate level of care for admission, transfer, and discharge 
10.Develop and implement procedures for the safe operation of equipment, including competency evaluation of staff.
11.Prepare and plan the budget and submit recommendations to the Executive Director for review and/or approval.
12.Perform administrative duties such as completing reports, forms,  evaluations etc., as necessary.
13.Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by Executive Director including any special projects.

Education & Experience

Degree in a business or healthcare related field required. Minimum of three years of experience in retirement community/senior living management required.
