Summary
The Workday Security & Reporting Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, and maintenance of Workday security and reporting. Reporting to the Workday Lead, this role executes security and reporting activities that ensure appropriate data access, system compliance, and delivery of accurate, timely reporting to the business. This individual serves as a key operational resource, partnering with functional teams and the AMS provider to maintain a secure and reliable Workday environment while enabling business users through effective reporting solutions.
General Description Duties & Responsibilities
Workday Security Administration
Configure and maintain Workday security including domain and business process security policies, role-based and user-based security groups, and Segregation of Duties (SoD) design and enforcement.
Execute user access provisioning, updates, and deprovisioning.
Troubleshoot and resolve security access issues (i.e., missing permissions, role conflicts, etc.).
Support security role assignments and updates in alignment with defined governance.
Lead security reviews and audits (quarterly/annual access reviews).
Ensure compliance with SOX controls, internal audit standards, and data privacy regulations.
Security Operations & Support
Process and fulfill security-related requests in accordance with SLAs.
Partner with Workday Lead to ensure adherence to least-privilege access principles.
Assist in maintaining and updating Integration System Users (ISUs) and security group memberships.
Support issue resolution related to data access and visibility.
Investigate and resolve security incidents or unauthorized access risks.
Partner with AMS resources to execute security changes while maintaining governance and quality.
Reporting Development & Maintenance
Design, build, and maintain Workday reports including advanced, matrix, and composite reports.
Establish standards for report design, naming conventions, data definitions, and calculated fields.
Rationalize and consolidate reports to eliminate redundancy and improve usability.
Modify existing reports to meet evolving business needs, ensuring reports are accurate, efficient, and user-friendly.
Troubleshoot ad resolve reporting discrepancies or errors.
Partner with business leaders to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable solutions.
Provide governance on self-service reporting capabilities and train users on report usage, data interpretation, and security implications of data access.
Data Integrity & Compliance Support
Validate report outputs against source data to ensure accuracy.
Define and maintain data governance standards including data ownership, data definitions, and data quality controls.
Support reconciliation efforts and audit requests with reliable reporting outputs.
Support internal and external audits by providing security reports and user access listings.
Workday Release & Change Management
Assess impact of Workday bi-annual releases on security roles, domains, delivered reports, and dashboards.
Coordinate testing and validation in Sandbox/Preview environments.
Ensure security and reporting changes are properly migrated and documented.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
Maintain comprehensive documentation for security roles and group definitions, report inventory and descriptions, and data definitions and calculated fields.
Update and/or create job aids and support materials for end users.
Ensure documentation supports AMS collaboration, audits, and scalability.
