Position Summary

Stonehill College is seeking a full-time Admission Counselor to participate in the recruitment of prospective undergraduate students. The successful candidate will demonstrate an exceptional work ethic and will join an experienced admissions team in promoting the College to prospective students and their families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and conduct recruitment and counseling activities in a specific geographic territory while developing school counselor relationships. This includes approximately 8-10 weeks of fall recruitment travel and 3-5 weeks of spring recruitment travel at assigned high schools and college fairs.
  • Independently, thoroughly, and holistically review approximately 1,000 early action, early decision, and regular decision applications by assigned deadlines for admission and merit-based scholarships.
  • Conduct virtual, on-campus, and off-campus group information sessions and personal interviews for prospective students.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain communication with prospective students, parents, and school counselors throughout the recruitment cycle.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Office of Undergraduate Admission and other administrative and academic departments on campus.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support assigned campus visit experiences, school counselor programs, and other recruitment events on campus, off campus, and virtually.
  • Lead various projects or programs associated with the essential operation of the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Potential projects may include, but are not limited to, the following: open house planning, web content development, student worker coordination, school counselor programs, social media marketing, data collection/research, and international and multicultural student recruitment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

A Bachelor's degree and a valid driver's license are required. Strong oral and written communication skills, in addition to the ability to work independently, are critical. Availability for some evening and weekend commitments is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference given to candidates with experience at liberal arts and /or Catholic institutions. Knowledge of Ellucian Banner Database and Microsoft Office is helpful.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Previous experience in undergraduate admission or college counseling is preferred. Knowledge of Slate by Technolutions, Ellucian Banner Database, and Microsoft Office is helpful.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to use their hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
