This role involves managing the admission process by handling inquiries, coordinating assessments, and ensuring smooth onboarding of residents and patients to meet facility census goals.
Responsibilities include developing a referral network, conducting marketing and educational activities, and communicating with staff to facilitate admissions and billing.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of admissions experience in a long-term care setting, preferably a nursing facility.
- Knowledge of Rhode Island’s healthcare insurance industry, including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and third-party payors.
- Experience with Medicaid applications and eligibility requirements in Rhode Island.
- Strong relationship-building skills with referral sources, residents, families, and staff.
- Professional presentation and community engagement abilities.
- Computer literacy with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a desire to work with the elderly.
- Ability to work independently, handle crises responsibly, and exercise control when needed.
