Preferred Qualifications Position Summary

This is a front-line marketing, operations, recruitment, and events management position in a highly collaborative department supporting the enrollment objectives of the Full-Time MBA and M.S. Business Analytics Admissions Office. The Admissions Coordinator performs a crucial role as a first point of contact for prospective students, shaping their impression of the Terry College of Business, and will assist the Director and Associate Director with the recruitment of students. This employee is expected to have an in-depth understanding of our programs, other graduate programs offered by the Terry College of Business, and the offerings of our peer, aspirant, and competitor MBA programs. The person in this role is expected to: display strong interpersonal and communication skills; be proficient with and adept at learning new technologies and applications; and pay close attention to details, especially as related to admissions decisions, application processing, and the handling and storage of confidential information.

Prospect and Applicant Communications

  • Writes timely, professional, customer-focused email responses for georgiamba@uga.edu and msba@uga.edu accounts to prospects, applicants, and new students using Slate Inbox and Microsoft Outlook
  • Manages preparation and shipping of admitted and deposited applicant gifts
  • Monitors UGA Graduate School's Slate instance for updates to MBA/MSBA applicant records and update applicant and/or Terry Graduate Programs' instance of Slate CRM and application system

Recruitment:

  • Provide a superior level of customer service to prospective applicants and incoming students; interact daily with internal and external customers (prospective applicants, parents, spouses and partners, current students, alumni, faculty, staff, vendors, salespeople, and other departments/divisions of the University of Georgia)
  • Advise prospective applicants who contact the office via phone, email, web chat, text message, and in person

Events Management:

  • Serve as lead on planning and execution of departmental events, including admitted student events, Campus Visit Days, Lunch Tours & Chats, on-campus information sessions; schedule interviews and campus visits for candidates and guests.

Administrative Support to the Admissions Office

  • Maintenance of the Admissions Office calendar, including meeting scheduling on behalf of the department with program staff
  • Greets visitors as they enter the facility, answering questions for all walk-in prospects and determining the appropriate follow-up action
  • Answers telephone calls to the Admissions Office main line. This includes providing detailed information to prospects and directing calls to other staff and divisions of the university as necessary.
  • Maintains and organizes office records, files, and orders supplies
  • Manages department inventory of Terry-related merchandise and print materials used in recruiting activities, including researching new items, placing orders, maintaining invoice information, and coordinating approval with the Terry College Office of Marketing and Communications
  • Coordinates with Terry College Business Office on any necessary check requests and purchase orders for admissions expenses
  • Post graduate assistant waiver codes in Graduate School's system
  • Assists incoming graduate assistants with HR onboarding
