Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Admissions, the Admissions Coordinator serves as one of the initial points of contact for applicants and will support an admissions process designed to select and enroll a diverse qualified medical student class who will embody the mission, vision, and values of the new medical school. This role is integral to the success of the admissions process, including interfacing with applicants, faculty, staff, and community members.
Primary position responsibilities:
• Assist in processing applications to the Frist College of Medicine, including communicating with applicants, building and implementing admissions processing systems (WebAdmit Slate, Banner), with strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and customer service. • In conjunction with the Assistant Dean for Admissions, working with admissions application readers to ensure expediency, continuity, and fairness. • Responsibilities include assisting in building and producing regular reports for the Assistant Dean for Admissions for the Committee on Admissions. • Assist in the planning, implementation, and continued improvements to medical student interview days and accepted student visits. • Provide counseling and feedback to candidates about the application process and reapplications. • Serve as part of the team collecting and monitoring On-Boarding activities and requirements for new medical students, including planning, scheduling, and execution of new medical student orientation.
