Work Schedule / Pay Range

  • Part-time position with 16 – 24 hours/week + requires weekend work
  • Hourly rate between $25 - $32/HR

At Embark Behavioral Health, we are dedicated to combating the rising rates of suicide, depression, and anxiety through exceptional mental health treatment. Our Residential Programs provide a structured, therapeutic environment where individuals can receive comprehensive, around-the-clock care and support.

 

The Admissions Counselor plays a vital role in shaping the first experience for individuals seeking care, serving as a trusted guide through the admissions and intake process. This role requires compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail to support prospective clients and families during a critical decision-making period. The Admissions Counselor works collaboratively with clinical, financial, and operations teams to ensure a smooth, timely, and compliant transition into residential services.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the admissions process, ensuring timely, accurate, and client‑centered responses to inquiries from families, referral sources, and professionals.
  • Oversee and support completion of level‑of‑care assessments, consents, verifications of benefits (VOBs), good faith estimates (GFEs), payments, biopsychosocial assessments (BPS), suicide risk assessments, safety plans, and treatment plans, as appropriate.
  • Direct insurance verification workflows and financial discussions to ensure compliance, transparency, and a positive admissions experience.
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date documentation within the admissions and electronic health record systems.
  • Manage and optimize intake workflows, paperwork completion, and adherence to admissions protocols and timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical, medical, and program leadership to support smooth transitions from inquiry to admission and into care.
  • Review and approve assessment summaries and ensure appropriate communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referral partners and represent the organization in virtual outreach activities, meetings, and conferences.
  • Coordinate and host virtual tours, informational sessions, and consultations for prospective families and referral partners.
  • Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality, HIPAA, and all applicable state and organizational compliance standards.
  • Lead participation in admissions team meetings, training initiatives, and cross‑departmental collaboration to enhance performance and service quality.

 

 

 

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in psychology, Counseling, or Social Work is preferred but not required.
  • Sales and marketing experience are preferred but not required.
  • Prior admissions experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of DSM-V disorders and other pertinent issues facing clients and their families.
  • Preferred experience in an inpatient or residential setting.
  • Knowledge of database management.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in problem solving, prioritizing, and decision making in a complex environment with competing priorities.
  • Skill in organization and time management.
  • Ability to deliver superior customer service.
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with other team members and departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Strong understanding of insurance processes, including VOB and financial counseling.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor when speaking with families in crisis.
  • Other duties in alignment with the position assigned by the Admissions Director
  • Must be able to pass drug and background.
